Pack Horse Bridge over the River Kennett

(Formerly listed as "Roman" or Pack-horse Bridge over River Kennett)

II*

Bridge. Late medieval (said to be early C15) with C18
alterations. 4 pointed arches, each spanning about 2.5m; a cut-
water between each. The pathway 1.2m wide between parapets which
are swept out at either end. Flint rubble with some repairs in
brick. The soffits and arches of brick; the earlier work in
splayed red brick, with extensive repairs (probably of C18) in
gault brick; dressings below the arch springing point of splayed
limestone blocks. The bridge is a Scheduled Ancient Monument,
No. 17.
