Baptist Church and rooms. Dated Baptist/Chapel/1724/Rebuilt/1827. Coursed
rubble, freestone dressings, concrete tile roof. Chapel gable on to road, rooms
in line behind. 2 storeys, chapel galleried. Main gabled elevation has 2 tall
pointed windows in moulded architraves, multi-paned with gothick tracery, flanking
central doorcase in which ill-tutored columns support a heavy pediment broken by
an ogee-headed light above stone doors in jambs with clustered mini-shafts,
plinth, thin panelled pilasters at each side rise to plain pinnacle, panelled
finial; chapel returns have 2 storeys, 3 windows divided by similar pilasters,
windows are ogee-headed in hollow-moulded architrave with multi-panes and gothick
tracery; further, slightly lower rooms have 2 storeys, 6 windows all pointed,
plain architrave, sashes with gothick tracery below, C20 replacements above, C20
lean-to at rear. Interior: gallery has ornate iron panels.
