Large house, now conference centre. 1835, by J B Papworth. Stucco. Cornice,
1st floor band and plinth. Lakeland slate double-span roof. End stone stacks.
2 storeys, 2 bays. Projecting ashlar porch with consoles. Stone steps. Partly
glazed door with fanlight. Tripartite sash windows with glazing bars in segmental
arched recesses divided by thin pilasters. To 1st floor sashes with glazing bars in
stucco architraves. To north facade a 2-storey canted bay. Contemporary cornices
and other plaster enrichments to interior. Lower office wing to right of brick with
stucco band. Welsh slate hipped roof and sash windows with glazing bars.
