Barn and coach-house, now house in part and link building. Late C18
and early C19. Barn: hammer dressed gritstone, stone slate roof.
Coach-houses - deeply coursed, dressed gritstone, C20 concrete-tiled
roofs. 2 storeys. 3 adjoining blocks stepped down slope, at uphill
end to right a link block adjoins left return of Revell Grange (qv).
Barn: tall cart entrances to right and centre, both with board
doors and keyed basket arches. Door downhill to left end. Regular
slit vents to hayloft. Left return: vents and pigeon hole to apex.
Link block projecting from front right of barn: 2 builds indicated
by central quoins. 2 doors to left in quoined surrounds. Large
part-blocked opening to right of centre, 2 further C20 doors to right.
2-light square-faced mullion window above with casements, single
leaded-light window to right. To left of barn, set lower, a former
coachhouse now house with: part-blocked coach entrance (now 2 windows)
with quoined reveals and 2-stone keyed basket arch to left. Inserted
C20 garage doors to right beneath concealed girder. Central ground
floor window and 3 first floor windows all with square-faced surrounds
and C20 casements. Left end of roof hipped. To left, set lower,
another block with similar coach entrance to right (blocked). Left
return of this end block has 2 C20 casements to each floor in
original openings. Central eaves stack, hipped roof. C20 extensions
to rear of coachhouses not of special interest. Included mainly for
group considerations.
