Circa 1870 semi-detached Italianate houses of 2 storeys and attic, built by the
Hodge family, after whom the Fold is named, and expressive of their greater
affluence in the later part of the C19. Plain front to west, pitch-faced sandstone
"brick", chamfered quoins. Hipped slate roof with deep eaves on modillion brackets.
Tall corniced chimneys. Curved gable dormers. Four window centre with flanking
breaks containing paired round headed first floor windows and corniced canted bay
windows on the ground floor. Corniced, console bracketed, doorways next to breaks.
The interior of No 10 remains unaltered with all mouldings, fittings etc in particular
the ground floor right hand front room has the feature of mirror panelled walls as
well as the overmantel above the marble mantlepiece.
