Formerly standing in what was known as Peel Square on Leeds Road, the statue
was appropriately re-erected in Peel Park following the demolition of Kassapian's
Warehouse. This was the first public statue in Bradford. Cast lead standing
figure in contemporary mid C19 dress raised on an ashlar monolith drum with
cornice capping. Inscribed "W Behnes Sculp", cast by Robinson Scott Company
of Pimlico.
