United Reformed Church, formerly Independent chapel. Dated 1863. Built for local man, William Ackroyd (Kelly's Directory). Polychrome brick, some stone dressings. Slate roof. Italianate style. All elevations articulated with Corinthian pilasters. Red brick bands at sill level and just below capitals. All openings have polychrome semi-circular heads. Simplified blind arcading below cornice. 3-bay East gable end has central gabled porch with double door up 3 steps. Doorway has semi-circular arch on Corinthian columns. Above porch is pair of windows with flanking Corinthian columns and an oculus above, the whole within larger arch. One window to each side bay. Door and side bay windows have dripstones with carved stops.
