GV II

House. Early/mid C19, possibly earlier core, with some later
modernisation. Mixed construction; stone rubble side walls and
roughcast front over timber-framing; stone rubble stacks in
left side wall but chimneyshafts not visible; slate roof.
PLAN: One-room wide and 2 rooms deep. Ground-floor front shop
with former stables to rear (now part of the shop).
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; one-window range. Altered late C19 timber
shop front has clerestorey windows with glazing bars. It
returns round the left corner. Shop doorway to right has a C20
glazed door, and house doorway to right of it also contains a
C20 door, both with overlights. Full-width fascia with a
series of small fluted brackets. Roughcast above contains a
single 12-pane sash. Plain eaves to parallel roof, hipped to
left.
INTERIOR: Plain carpentry and joinery detail where exposed.
There is no evidence of anything earlier than the C19.
