GV II

Almshouses, now old people's homes. Dated 1914. By J H Hirst.
Brick with painted ashlar dressings and plain tile roof with 2
gable and single ridge stacks, all coped. Plinth and quoins.
Single storey; 4-window range. In the centre, a parapeted
triple bay with a central triangular pediment, and below it, a
shaped inscribed panel. 2 close boarded doors flanked by
single 4-light stone mullioned windows. Beyond, small loggias
with 2 round-arched openings, each covering a 2-light window
and a door. Beyond again, a projecting through-eaves dormer
with a massive coped gable and a 4-light stone mullioned
window, flanked on the outer side by a door.
