GV II

Almshouses, now old people's homes. Dated 1952. Brick with
ashlar dressings and plain tile roof with 2 gable and single
ridge stacks, all coped. Plinth and quoins. Similar style to
the nearby almshouses of 1914. By J H Hirst. Single storey;
4-window range. In the centre, a parapeted triple bay with a
central triangular pediment, and below it a shaped inscribed
panel. 2 close boarded doors flanked by single 4-light stone
mullioned windows. Beyond, small loggias with 2 round-arched
openings each covering a 2-light window and a door. Beyond
again, a 4-light stone mullioned window, then a door.
