Detached house. Built for W M Thackeray 1860-1862 who lived here till his death in
1863. One of the first Queen Anne Revival houses. Two storey 7 windows wide. Red
brick with stone dressings. Central projecting porch with rusticated piers and
balustrade with urns. Balustraded parapet. Has a star for its associations with
Thackeray.
