Country house set in parkland. Mid C18, altered and extended
later C19 and C20.
MATERIALS: stuccoed walls, hipped slate roofs of different
heights.
PLAN: rectangular plan with large extensions and service wing
on north-east.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys. Several brick chimneys with corniced
heads and tall clay pots. Sash windows with glazing bars.
Entrance (south-west) front: bands at first and second floors.
Moulded cornice and plain parapet. 5-bays with projecting
centre bay. First and second floor centre windows have moulded
architraves and bracketed sills; the windows on the ground
floor are tripartite. Single storey, single bay wings at
either side have casement windows framed in modified pilasters
and entablature, and corner pilasters rising through cornice
to balustraded parapet and urn finials. 3 steps up to centre.
6-panel entrance door in moulded wooden architrave within
doorcase of panelled pilasters, entablature and segmental
pediment.
