House, now inn. Circa early - mid C18, with alterations of circa mid C19 and some C20 alterations. Slatestone rubble; rendered at the front. Asbestos slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends. Gable end stacks with brick shafts.
Plan: Double depth plan, with central entrance; one large room to left and one
smaller to right, each heated from a gable end stack. Two shallow service rooms to rear. There is a one-room plan addition of C19 to rear right and rear left.
Exterior: 2 storeys, nearly symmetrical 3-window front. All windows of mid C19.
Central C20 gabled wooden porch, open-fronted, with inner C19 4-panelled door.
Single light with Gothic glazing to right and left. To outer right and left a sash with wide margin glazing. First floor has three similar sashes. The right end is blind. The left end is blind, with addition to left of single storey with loft; this has a plank stable-type door and small single storey addition at the end with C20 window. At the rear, at first floor, there are three early C19 16-pane sashes and one C20 window. Ground floor has 12-pane window to left; to right there is an addition with C19 2-light 6-pane casement. Single storey C20 addition, a lean-to along the rear concealing the former rear doorway.
Interior: The partition wall between the former entrance passage and the room to left has been removed; the room the left and passage have slate floor. To left the end fireplace has wooden chimneypiece with mantel on brackets and spit, with cupboard recess to right. All plain C19 ceiling beams. There is a straight stair in the former passage with stick balusters and columnar newel. The window to front left has 2 panelled shutters and built-in settle to left of the fireplace. The room to right has C20 rebuilt fireplace. The partition walls have been removed from the rear service rooms.
