Description

Sir John Steell, 1863-5. Plinth by David Bryce. Bronze pedestrian statue with flowing locks and beard, clutching cloak and quill, on corniced ashlar plinth with engaged Corinthian colonnettes.

Statement of Interest

Memorial to Professor John Wilson, 'Christopher North,' reviewer and essayist for Blackwood's Magazine. Paid for by public subscription raised following Wilson's death in 1854.
