Late 19th -early 20th century. Square-plan iron gatepiers; sunken rectangular panels to central sections; pyramidal caps. Highly decorative 2-leaf iron gates; foliate patterns; single gate to SW of main gates. Coped boundary wall to SE; geometrical foliate design iron railings to rectangular panels atop boundary wall.
Farmhouse and steading not included in listing. A fine remaining example of late 19th century decorative iron-work delineating property boundaries. Farm marked on J Ainslie's Wigton map, 1782, as Dochrae.
