c1837, built as part of the town's road access concurrent with the laying out of Priory Street: designed by G V Maddox. This group is a complete rebuild right through to Priory Street, but the Church Street elevation appears to retain the historic street line. The north side appears to retain the historic street line.
Plain late C20 shopfront. The rear elevation has been altered where it adjoins the new buildings of White Swan Court.
Interior not available at resurvey, apart from the shop premises.
Included in a higher grade for its exceptional architectural interest as part of an important piece of early C19 town planning in the Monmouth centre.
