House, late C17, mid C18 and mid C19. Colourwashed rendering on
stone and brick. Stone slate and tiled roofs with 3 hipped
casement dormers to the front. Originally a 2-bay C17 building
with gable to front, extended by cross wing to front, incorporating
the front bay in a new cross roof, and having external gable stack.
Wing extended by addition of a 2 x 1 bay building with central
hallway and gable stacks in mid C18, (Arms, initials WM and date
1748 survive in a first floor cupboard). Rear block and stair
added in c1840. Brick lean-to stable block attached to gable end.
Six-panelled door to C18 block within fielded and panelled reveals.
Moulded doorcase and delicate arcaded and dentilled canopy on
consoles. Flanking entrance, 2-storey canted bay windows with 12-
pane sashes and a 12-pane sash over the door. Eaves have similar
arcaded and dentilled mouldings extended round both bays. Three-
light casement windows to earlier block on right. Yard between
rear block and back bay of first build covered in.
Interior has panelled doors, mid C19 marble fireplaces and simple
plaster cornices.
