Small cottage, c1800. Red brick, low pitched slate roof with lead hips and
ridge. Two storeys. Symmetrical elevation. Centre door with fluted pilasters
and slender hood. Four panelled door, upper panels semicircular headed and
glazed, 16-pane sash window above. Each side of door a wider 16-pane sash win-
dow with rubbed brick arch. Similar windows above chimney stack on each end.
Interior: Simple staircase square balusters. Several later extensions matching
style and materials. Poet Shelley lived here 1815-1816 when his son by Mary
Godwin was born.
