11.7.51 Baptist Lychgate

- II*

Lychgate - formerly church porch. Gabled tiled roof. Plastered gables. South
wall brick with arched opening. Timber framing on low brick wall. Moulded tie
beam, brackets, quatrefoil tracery to side openings. Carved pole plate on cor-
bel brackets. Open sides, two moulded mullions. 2 vertical iron bars in each
opening with centre twist. Collared rafters. Tablet commemorating John Wesley
preached 1744. Seat on east side only.
