Coal and Wine tax post. Circa 1861. Made by Henry Grissell. Metal Circa 4½ foot
high. Four legged plinth chamfered pier above with moulded capital band and
pyramidal top. City of London shield on front. Lettering on the pier reads
"24 & 25 VICT/CAP 42". Makers name on rear. A Coal and Wine duty post indicating
the boundary atwhich tax was payable, that on coal dating back to the 1660's.
