Coal and Wine tax post. Circa 1861. Made by Henry Grissell. Metal circa 4 foot
high. Chamfered pier on front legged plinth. Moulded capital band and pyramidal top. City of London shield on front. Lettering on pier "24 & 25 VICT/CAP 42". Makers name on the rear. A Coal and Wine tax post indicating the boundary at which duty was payable; that on Coal dating back to the 1660's.
