GV II

House. Late C16/early C17 with C19 extensions to left. Timber framed over chalk
block cellars, underbuilt in brick with whitewashed rendered cladding above and
plain tiled roofs. L-shaped plan with gabled cross wing to right. Two storeys
with attics; C19 ridge stack on left of wing and further stacks to rear and right.
Three C19 windows to first floor left with blocked ground floor window below.
Camber-headed door to left. Jettied gable end to right with one 3-light window
on the first floor and single-light window to left; round-arched attic window
above. Plate glass shop front below on tiled risers with door in recess to centre.
Interior:- truncated dragon beam to ground floor left. Deep stone and brick fire-
place with herringbone brick in rear wall of hearth. Guilloche painting on lintel
over. Further clover leaf and floral paintings on ceiling joists. Undergoing
restoration at time of resurvey.
