Coal tax post. Circa 1860. Metal. Circa 4½ feet high. Four legged plinth with
stop chamfered pier above under moulded capital band with pyramidal top. City of
London shield cast on front of the capital band, lettering below on the pier reads:
"24 &25 CAP VICT. 42". A coal and wine taz post indicating the boundary at which
duty waspayable, that on coal dating back to the 1660's .
