7/29 Red House Flats


House, now divided into holiday flats; the eastern section incorporates part
of the Ship Inn. C18 to east, considerably altered mid C20; early C19 to
west. Red brick; pantiled roof except rear slope of eastern part which is
plaintiled. Western part: 2 storeys; 2 window range, sashes with glazing
bars in flush frames, segmental arch to ground floor; doorway with inset 6-
panel door, rectangular fanlight, cornice, panelled reveals. Eastern part: 2
storeys and attic; 2 window range, 2-light casements, one sash window to
ground floor; lean-to porch with half-glazed door added 1983; attic enlarged
mid C20 by raising the roof and adding 2 large dormer windows.
