ALL CANNINGS DREWITT'S LANE

7/5 Drewitt Cottage

House. Early C17. Timber framed with colourwashed brick noggings.
Thatched roof. Single storey and attic, two and half bays, with
gable lobby entry in the half-bay, hall and inner room. Narrow bay
behind stack, possibly an outbuilding, extended to full bay
probably in C18 in chalkstone as dairy with lateral stack. Framing
3 panels high with corner braces. Entrance, a half-glazed door in
C20 timber porch. Timber casement windows. Brick flue to stack
rebuilt. Roof half-hipped left, hipped right and swept over 2
dormers each side.
Interior has spine beams with large bar stops to hall bay, double
bar stops to inner room. Stair position altered. Small windbraces
to principal rafters of central bay. C20 extensions both ends.
