Gazebo or summer house. Mid to late C18 (presumably contemporary
with Somerford Hall in the garden of which it stands). Brick in
Flemish bond, partly painted or limewashed, with sandstone
dressings; roof removed. Octagonal in plan, attached or adjoining
the kitchen garden wall of Somerford Hall, and set above the hall
garden ha-ha. 3 open sides with Gothick ogee arches containing
trefoil inner order, on clustered stone shafts, the acanthus
finials breaking the moulded stone string. Complex moulded
cornice Fragments of parapet mostly dislodged.
