2 houses, now 2 houses and shop. Early and mid C18, altered mid C19. Regular
coursed and squared coursed limestone with thatch and Collyweston slate roofs.
Together comprising an L-shape plan. No.6 is 2 storeys and No.8 is single storey
with attic. Main front of No.6 is 2-bay with one-window range to left with a
3-light stone mullion window at first floor and casement window with glazing
bars and hood mould at ground floor. Cross wing breaks forward to right with
one-window range of casements under wood lintels in gable end. Return wall of
cross wing has C19 shop window with glazing bars and attached plank door, all
under slated wooden hood. Brick stack at end. Elevation to right of cross wing
is similar with casement window under wood lintel. No.8 attached to left has one
casement with glazing bars, under wood lintel, at ground floor and 2 eyebrow
dormers with similar casements to attic. C20 door with hood to right. Brick
stack at end. Interior of Post Office has ceiling beams.
