TQ 03NE CRANLEIGH C.P. THE COMMON

6/52 Old Tokefield

House. Late C16/Early C17 with C20 extensions. Timber framed, underbuilt in
brick to the left, rat-trap bond brick to right, frame exposed above with
whitewashed render infilling. Plain tiled roofs, half-hipped to ends and
stepping down to right. Two storeys, two framed bays to left with diagonal
bracing to first floor, three framed bays to right. Originally end chimney
house with stack to left, now enclosed in extension - massive corbelled ridge
stack to left of centre at junction of the two ranges, smaller C20 stack to
left end. Two 3-light diamond-pane windows to first floor left, three windows
on ground floor under drip hoods. Three diamond-pane windows to first floor
right including one smaller window by door; two windows under drip boards on
ground floor. C20 gabled brick porch at junction of two ranges. Single storey
range set back to right. Fishscale tile hanging on rear.
