House. C17, re-fronted early/mid C18. Coursed squared marlstone with ashlar
dressings; Welsh-slate roof with stone-and-brick end stacks. L plan. 2 storeys
plus attic. Regular 3-window front has the doorway, with C20 door and flat
canopy, set to left of centre, and has small 12-pane sashes with thick glazing
bars; all openings have ashlar flat arches with projecting keyblocks, the lower
keyblocks linked to a storeyband. Both stacks have ashlar plinths, and the left
stack also retains the ashlar shaft raised in brick. Rear has a 3-light
stone-mullioned window with label, now partly converted to a doorway. Rear wing
returns from right and has casements. Interior: large C17 open fireplace with a
Tudor-arched head formed in the chamfered bressumer; winder stair adjoining
chimneybreast and rising to attics; butt-purlin roof with cambered collars to
the trusses; C18 arched display niche with fluted pilasters and serpentine
shelves.
