House, now 2 dwellings. C17 extended C19. Timber-frame with wattle and daub and
brick infill, whitewashed. Whitewashed brick. Asbestos tile and plain-tile roof
with brick left ridge and right end stacks. Single storey and attic. 5-window
range in all of 2-light casements and door to centre left (The Cottage). Ground
floor has been underbuilt in brick but square panel framing remains above. Two
2-light dormers and a skylight. Left bay is C19 and has 3-light casement on end
with 2-light leaded casement over. Small extension on rear. Single-storey
extensions on right end with tall ridge stack. To rear are door (Malt House
Cottage) and small casements. Massive close-studded framing below middle rail and
square-panel framing above, all of one build. Gable end has cambered tie-beam
truss and jowled posts. Old rafter ends. Interior noted as having spine beam and
heavy joists.
