(North Side)
Brick wall with
gateway attached
to Cottage at the
Vicarage
ST 2224 NE 9/14B

2.
Attached at south-east corner of the cottage attached to the Vicarage is a short
section of high old brick walling. Possibly C18. Gateway in wall is flanked by
square piers with stone ball finials. Double wrought-iron gates with cresting
over. This wall is of considerable importance to the precinct of the church since
it helps to enclose the churchyard by separating it from the open spaces to the
east.

All the listed buildings in Church Square together with the Church of
St Mary Magdalene and the listed buildings in Hammet Street form an extremely
important group.
