Pair of houses, now offices (left) and house. c1820 with later
alterations. Pinkish-red brick in Flemish bond with flat
arches of gauged red brick, stone sills, slate roof and end
brick stacks with oversailing courses and pots (renewed to
left). 3 storeys, 2:3 first-floor windows. First floor has
8/8, two 6/6, 8/8 and 6/6 sashes. Second floor has 4/4, two
3/3, 4/4 and 3/3 ashes. Ground floor has two 8/8 sashes. All
windows in plain reveals and with flat arches of gauged brick
(those to right now painted); sills. Pair of off-centre left
entrances: 5-panel doors with overlights (that to right has
glazing bars) and timber doorcase with cornice. Further
entrance to passageway at right, plank door in round-arched
opening with brick surround. Modillion eaves band.
INTERIOR: house to left (No.1) has moulded cornices; dogleg
staircase with stick balusters; otherwise not inspected.
HISTORICAL NOTE: not shown on Young's map of 1779. Occupies an
important site, forming part of the setting for Worcester
Cathedral (qv).
All the listed buildings in College Precincts form a good
group with the Cathedral.
