2/37 Barn south of Johnson House
GV II

Barn, late C18th. Sandstone rubble with slate roof. West wall has
breathers and putlog holes, and 2 wide entrances with segmental arches,
projecting keystones, and a slight chamfer. To the left is a door with
chamfered surround. To the right is an addition which has a door with
chamfered surround and a window with plain reveals. To the left of the
door is a blocked opening with re-set battlemented lintel inscribed: '1641
BB IB'. Gables have copings with kneelers. Left-hand gable wall has 3
shippon doors with a slight chamfer, the middle one blocked. Inside are
trusses with collars and tie beams, some of softwood.
