3/15 Promenade Shelters


Probably 1905; pair flanking steps to beach. Cast iron, with wooden side
screens and partitions, and lead-covered roofs. Each of square plan;
slim iron columns at corners, each with 4 ornamental brackets in open
arabesque pattern, supporting pavilion-shaped roof swept out and
emphatically ribbed, with blind bullseye dormer protruding on each side;
a depressed - ogee cap rests on the apex,a needle-shaped iron finial rising
from its centre.
