Farmhouse, C17. Coursed sandstone rubble with quoins, stone slate roof
with gable copings and kneelers, one chimney on the ridge and 2 gable
chimneys (projecting at left gable). Three-bay baffle-entry 2-storey
house with 2-storey gabled porch at junction of 2nd and 3rd bays and
2-storey rear outshut to let and 2nd bays. Porch has studded door with
chamfered surround, and at 1st floor a stepped 3-light double chamfered
mullion window with stepped hoodmould;hollow moulded coping and roll-
moulded kneelers. Three other mullion windows on each floor: those at
ground floor are double-chamfered with hoodmoulds and have 4, 5 and 3
(originally 4) lights; those above are chamfered and have 4, 4 and 3
lights. Left return wall, with projecting chimney stack, is rendered,
has a door and a 3-light mullion window at 1st floor. Rear has small
3-light stone mullion at 1st floor of outshut, firewindow at junction of
2nd and 3rd bays and 5 other windows; 3rd bay altered as dairy. Interior:
large stone arch fireplace in 2nd bay; some large roll-moulded beams.
