The Generalate (formerly Selly Park Hall) is early C19. Brick; slate roof. Two
and a half storeys; 3 bays, the centre one advanced and pedimented. Ground floor
with a central door with fanlight and side lights set in a simple stuccoed surround
and 2 tripartite windows with exceedingly elongated volutes and beneath a shallow
relieving arch. First floor with a central window similar to the ground floor ones
but with a blind balcony and a segmental relieving arch and 2 sash windows also
with blind balconies. The attic windows 3 almost square sashes sitting on a band.
Finely moulded and dentilled eaves cornice. Left and right, curved walls, later
C19 in their upper parts. Interior with an elegant flying staircase with pretty
foliage in the balustrade rising up within an oval room to the first floor balcony
landing. At first floor level, the walls with large and small arched panels and
entrances off the landing. Only this of the Convent's buildings is listed.
