10/145 Hart's Farmhouse

GV II

Farmhouse. Late C17 or early C18. Flemish bond brick front,
English bond sides and rear, on stone plinth; tiled roof. Three-
window front, 2 rooms deep, 2½ storeys. Six-panel front door,
plain, unfielded panels; in timber-frame, no lintel. Two-light
mullion and transom window each side, iron opening lights, rubbed
brick arch. Plain string course above, stops short of corners.
First floor 3 similar windows, except that left one filled and
rendered over. Further plain brick string course above, short
length of wall to eaves, wallplate exposed. Gable chimneys, on
ridge. Right return, to left single-light transomed window, to
right 2-light mullion and transom, both with cambered brick arches.
Boarded door to cellar on right down stone steps. String course
above, as front: first floor windows as below; further plain
string course, two 2-light casement windows to attics, no lintels.
Large corner chimney breast in front room on right against gable.
Interior otherwise not inspected. Garage on rear not of special
interest. Forms group with barn, (q.v.).
