House in row. Late C18 or early C19, and mid C19. Rendered,
slate double mansard roof.
3 storeys, attic and basement, 2 windows, all plain sashes.
Flat-roofed dormers above a 3-storey mid C19 canted oriel,
with dentil cornice at each level, and panelled skirts with
glazed tile inserts, and to the left sashes above a flush
4-panel door with plain fanlight in plain arched reveal, on 6
stone steps with nosings. The basement has a sash under the
oriel. Moulded cornice, above the top of the oriel, blocking
and parapet, 2 stacks. The rear has two C20 dormers, and a
narrow brick wing with flat roof.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: each side of the steps, and returning
across the front are original spearhead railings.
This forms a group with Nos 43 & 44 (qqv), and may originally
have been identical with No.43.
