Gate lodge. Circa 1860 by T.H.Wyatt, architect. Polychromatic sandstone and slate
roof. Cross plan. Single storey and attic with steep parapet gabled roofs and stack
to rear centre right. Irregularly placed fenestration of 2 light mullioned stone
windows with relieving arches over, with quatrefoil to left on ground floor. Bay to
right return with arched windows. Boarded door in single storey porch to right re-
entrant with arched outer doorway on short colunns with mined capitals. Built as
gate lodge to Capel Manor, designed and built 1859-62 by T.H.Wyatt for the Austen
family and now largely demolished.
