House. Late C16 or early C18 remodelling of earlier building. Timber framed
and exposed close-studding with plaster infill, with tile hung return elevation;
extended with weather boarded range. Plain tiled roofs. Lobby entry plan. Two
storeys with garret, with jettied gabled cross-wing projecting at left, and
cross-plan moulded stack at centre left. Three light garret wooden casement to
left, 2 three-light casements on 1st floor, and 2 four-light on ground floor,
all of same pattern, with additional 3 light casement in single storey extension
to right. Small 2 light mullioned opening to centre on 1st floor, and blocked
mullioned windows with side lights behind inserted casements on both floors
especially on cross-wing. Panelled door to centre left. The central framed bay
with cross-rail and upper rail, the main post to right with mortice holes, all
possibly indicating the remains of coving and bracing as for a Wealden hall
house. Crown post roof reported.
