Lodge and gates. 1911 by Mervyn Macartney in a neo-Georgian style. Red brick
with coved cornice and bracketed gutters to hipped slate roof. Tall pilastered
ridge stacks towards each end of ridge. 2 storeys. Tall central round-arched
gateway with round gable over and stone volute brackets flanking. Diagonally
set square stone inset. Hipped projections either side of each, to front and
rear. 2 windows on first floor, in projections. 4 windows on ground floor, in
projections and outer recessed wings. Wood-framed lattice casements. Central
archway with large wrought-iron gates in early Georgian style. Red brick walls
projecting towards road at either side, approximately 7 yards long with stone
parapet curving up to piers at ends with globe finials.
