This is the only surviving Mediaeval mill in the City. The ground floor has
early C13 stone and flint work and the roof is Mediaeval, but otherwise it
has been largely rebuilt in the early C19. It bridges the River Stour. 4
storeys weatherboarded. Second floor projects on brackets. 5 to 6 pivoting
sashes. Set on brick and stone piers. Wooden railing. End elevation has
hoists.

Lesser Knowlesthorpe, Nos 3, 4 and Watermill form a group.
