GV II

2 houses and outbuilding. Probably C17 and later. Painted stone rubble with
slate roof. 2 storeys, 4 bays,, the 4th bay probably later. Projecting slate
course over ground floor. Windows have casements; fire windows to 1st and 4th
bays. Entrances between 2nd and 3rd bays and one to 4th bay. 2 cross-axial
stacks. Outbuilding to left. Rear has varied small fenestration, projection
under cat slide roof. One window has 2-light wood mullioned frame. Outbuilding
has large doors. Interior has plank and muntin partition and late C17 door;
unglazed wood mullioned window in wall, now internal. Property of the National
Trust, the gift of Beatrix Potter.
