8/13 Group of 3 Unidentified Monuments &
Chambers monument, about 3m north-
west of north-west tower buttress in
churchyard of Church of St. Kenelm.

GV II


Group of 4 closely set chest tombs. 2 end tombs, including
Chambers, C17; 2 centre tombs early C18. Flat tops, no plinth
visible. From south to north:
1. Plain sides and ends, eroded inscription carved on top.
Shallow.
2. Moulded capping, simple moulded ends with rectangular
inscription panels. Long sides have central square panel and 2
narrow flanking panels, all very plain.
3. Lyre ends with oval inscription panels. Sides divided into 2
panels with 2 ovals surrounded by acanthus leaves. (Only one
such panel on south side.)
4. Plain moulded top, sides divided into recessed rectangular
panels, that to left on north side has inscription in capitals
as follows: "HEER LYETH THE BODYE / OF ROBERT CHAMBERS / OF
BATH WHO DECEASED / THE __________ OF NOVEM AN / ________".
Shallow.
