Public library, now shop and offices. Mid C19. By Anthony
Salvin. Stuccoed brick under a slate roof. 3 storeys; 3-window
range. The central element is stepped forward from narrow side
fillets. Ground floor altered late C20 to a shop front. First
floor with three 4/4 unhorned sashes with, above them, a
central blank roundel framed by a console right and left. Deep
string course below second floor which has a Venetian window
broken forward under an open pediment and supported by a
volute right and left. Gabled roof.
INTERIOR: upper floor retains moulded cornice.
