1853, by Bidlake and Lovall. District Council premises; formerly corn exchange, music hall and public rooms. Two storeys in brick with stone dressings. Paired giant pilasters at ends and triple ones flank centre. Ground floor in channelled rustication. The first floor has three windows with cornices on consoles, the centre one having a segmental pediment, stone balconies. Centre pediment with town arms, and parapet with inset iron grilles. Dentil cornice on brackets. Round-headed doorway and double door. A bell tower to the left and a one-storey section to the corner.
