Gatelodge to The Hoo, now demolished. C18. Painted brick with steep old
red tile hipped roof. Moulded stucco dentilled eaves cornice. A
2-storeys rectangular lodge with central chimney and small lean-to porch
on N end. Main front to drive on S end has central door flanked by small
narrow windows below a large round arched recess above a projecting plat
band which continues all round building. Segmental-headed sash window in
head of arched recess. E and W sides of building have a tall arched
recess to the S half with the plat-band at impost level. 3/6 panes sash
window in head. Recessed sash windows under segmental arches below, and
on each floor in N half. Continuous chamfered plinth. Victorian wall
letter-box in front wall.
