Pair of terraced houses, now 3 dwellings and attached
railings. Numbered right to left, described left to right.
c1820-30 with later additions and alterations including
service range at left. Stucco over brick with concealed roof,
end stucco stacks and iron balcony and railings.
EXTERIOR: 4 storeys with basement, 5 first-floor windows
(2:3), with one-and-a-half-storey entrance bay to left and
single-storey, 2-bay range to right and with full-height
service range to rear of main range at right. Main range: end
bays break forward. Stucco detailing includes ground-floor
rustication drawn into voussoirs over entrances; second- and
third-floor bands; tooled architraves to first- and
second-floor windows with cornice on consoles to first floor
and with acanthus leaves to 2nd floor. 6/6 sashes where
original in plain reveals and with sills, and 2/2 sash to
first floor. Right entrance (No.45) has 6-fielded-panel double
doors between engaged fluted Doric half-columns and wide
cambered-arched fanlight with decorative radial glazing.
Original entrance at left (No.47) now infilled and with sash;
otherwise entrance a C20 door in extension. Range to right
(No.43) has end entrance a panelled door with overlight and
1/1 sash, both with tooled architraves and cornices on console
brackets; crowning cornice and low parapet. Right return of
main range has 4 first-floor windows, mainly blind openings.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: No.45 has stick balusters and embellished
balustrade to sides of steps; between houses a 2m range of
flattened spearhead railings. First-floor continuous balcony
has embellished rods and lattice frieze. No.47 has similar
first-floor balcony to rear.

Forms a group with Boundary Pier to No.43 (qv) and Gatepiers
to No.47 (qv).
