Row of houses probably C17 or early C18 with later plastered fronts. Nos 55-58
have late Georgian sash windows, No 54 much altered. No 58 has small bowed shop
window on corner and early C19 frame to shop-sign. Two and three storeys. Irregularly
spaced windows, C19 sashes, Georgian sashes, tripartite sashes. Nos 57 and 58
have a brick string at first floor level. Slate and tile roofs. The ground floor
rooms of Nos 57 and 58 are panelled. The rear elevation form a good and varied
group seen from the ahurohyard.
All the listed buildings in Fore Street form a group.
