Terrace of 3 houses. c1820-50. Ashlar over brick with
concealed roofs, brick end and party-wall stacks and cast- and
wrought-iron railings and balconies. Double depth plan with
service ranges to rear.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys with attic and basement, 6 first-floor
windows (2 per house). Ashlar detailing includes first- and
second-floor bands; frieze and cornice over second floor;
crowning frieze, cornice and blocking course. First and second
floors have 6/6 sashes where original, taller to first floor;
ground-floor has tripartite cambered-arched windows with 6/6
between 2/2 sashes where original. Third floor has 3/3 sashes;
basement has 8/8 sashes. Flights of roll-edged steps to left
entrances, 6-fielded-panel doors with fanlights, that to No.12
has batwing glazing bars. Rear retains many 6/6, 3/3 and
tripartite 6/6 between 2/2 sashes.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: spearhead railings to sides of steps.
First-floor individual balconies to No.8 have stick
balustrade, and to No.12 have figure of eight and anthemion
motif and with similar motif to balcony at rear.
